@Russell

Wow, thank you so much. :)

@reintel

Thanks for the video link. Wow is that video horrible. Does NAR need some new ad agency people?

A national MLS/property repository makes all sorts of sense. I just think it will come from a vendor, because they are tech people, while realtors are service professionals.

Here is NAR's promotional video on why there should be a national property respository(gateway). Sounds like a national MLS to me.

A dramatization that illustrates why we need the National Real Estate Library.

Excellent article. Just so you know, in my opinion - you are one of the brightest minds writing about the real estate business.

Hello Rob,

You are 100% correct that RE is a service business not a data business. RE companies / agents should be reading Gerbers E-myth as guide to creating a system of delivering exceptional service and the clients will flock. The RE commnunity only needs to purchase the NAR homebuyer reports to discover what can wow customers but unforetunately most don't.

Hi Saul - thanks for the clarification.

I didn't see anything in your manifesto that suggested you wanted NAR to dominate the world. Maybe your liberal use of the trademarked term REALTOR(R) is what got folks all riled up? Or maybe you're taking the brunt of the heat for whatever this Gateway thing is.

I do plan on engaging the manifesto itself, but some of the criticism did appear to be a bit... misplaced might be the right word....
