Here in Alabama, it takes 15 times the education to get a license to cut someone&#039;s hair than it does to get a real estate license. While higher entry standards might not cure all of the problems, as your comparison to the law profession shows, it would go a long way toward weeding out some of those that have no business being in this business.</description>

And as long as the entire industry, from licensing on up, continues to foster that environment, I&#039;m afraid the image/reputation of the realtor will never truly be as a &quot;professional&quot;.  That sucks because it makes the hard work of the truly professional agents frustrating -- no matter how conscientious, how professional, how knowledgeable you are, you get associated with the yahoos and the morons.
